This course is part of a MOOC series of the Jockey Club CADENZA e-tools for Elder Care funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. Appreciating the world of the person with dementia is crucial to caregivers, whether formal or informal, in caring disturbed behavior of the person who is usually expressing their personal stress. In this course you will learn to understand and respond to the meaning of the behavior from his/her perspectives that may have disturbed you. Adopting a person-centred approach and upholding intrinsic capacity of the person with dementia, they should be receiving compassionate care despite they cannot communicate their feelings of anxiety or pain the way they used to. This course is open to anyone who show interest to this subject. It will lead you through the challenges and difficulties in caring issues through hearing stories from caregivers.
There is no entry requirement.
