About this course

This course is part of a MOOC series of the "Jockey Club CADENZA e-Tools for Elder Care" funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.


This course is open to anyone who show interest to this subject in knowing more about good nocturnal sleep in later life. Older people need less sleep. Is this true or a myth? If you are having trouble with sleep or care-related issues, there can be a number of reasons. In this course, we will lead you through non-pharmacological strategies on how to protect and optimize sleep at later life which is important for healthy aging.


In this course, experts from the Hong Kong Dental Association are invited to provide their opinions on the essentials and common misconceptions in oral health care for older people.


The course opens on 29 April, 2019 and will run through identical issues till mid of 2024. Let us go through the "Jockey Club CADENZA e-Tools for Elder Care" in understanding the causes of sleep problems in later life and the consequences of not getting enough sleep. We will provide non-pharmacological strategies on how to protect and optimize sleep at later life which is important for healthy aging.


This course is divided into 4 sessions. In addition, there will be quizzes. We estimate that you will need to spend no more than 4 contact hours on average to complete the course. It is in self-paced mode. You can study anytime and anywhere you want. We suggest you could study in a weekly basis for each chapter at your own schedule. Before you start, here is some helpful information for successful completion of this course.

 

Assessment

After study all the chapters, there will be an assessment consists of 20 multiple choice questions. To facilitate your learning process, assessment are allowed to have multiple attempts. While answering the questions, you are free to refer back to the teaching videos for answers.


After completion of this course, certification of attendance or certification with 4 CNE points (Nurse only) will be awarded. Please refer to the information 'How to get certificate' for details.
