1. About InfoLit for U: Information Literacy MOOC

Do you know what is the most critical skill to a successful university study, conduct outstanding research, and your future careers?

It is all related to an important competence: Information Literacy (a.k.a .InfoLit, IL).

InfoLit for U, a self-paced, non-credit bearing MOOC designed by the library of all 8 UGC-funded universities in Hong Kong, is suitable for students in all years of undergraduate study.

2. Structure of this MOOC (1.5 - 2 hours per module)

The focal and the disciplinary modules of this MOOC are designed to help you become analytical, wise, and creative information user for effective learning at the university and tackle professional challenges after graduation.

In the focal module "Not only search skills: What is InfoLit for U study & career?"you will learn how to use information for university-level inquiry works through 5 sections:

Discipline Modules

The 8 discipline-related elective modules, each designed by our participating university respectively, dive deeper into the journey and help you find, evaluate, and create high-quality outputs for tasks relating to the following disciplines:

Furthermore, you can obtain an achievement certificate issued by this MOOC if you successfully complete the “Check My Understanding” questions of [the Focal Module +  at least 1 of the Discipline Modules] with 70% or above correct rate

3. Requirements

This course is for all university students, as well as senior secondary students who want a smooth transition to learn at the university. There is no entry requirement.
